In 1995, Chris began building our practice from the ground up with a service-first, no-stone-left-unturned wealth management approach. What he’s always worked toward – and what has earned him the appointment of Senior Portfolio Manager & Wealth Advisor – is delivering an all-encompassing experience that completely removes the burden of wealth management from your life.
Chris believes “We’re not just members of your advisory team, we’re the coach.” It's just one way Chris likes to describe what we do. “We guide all your professionals – your accountant, lawyer, and others – towards the goals you have for your business and family.” Chris can do that, expertly, because of his broad-reaching industry experience and understanding of the wealth management elements beyond investing. He is adept at playing off of everyone’s strengths, coordinating every facet of your financial life, and keeping you well-informed through regimented follow-up.
For Chris, ongoing professional development has been key to providing up-to-date, well-rounded advice. He has earned the designations of Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Financial Management Advisor (FMA), and Portfolio Manager – a high honour which enables him to fully remove the stress of managing wealth from your shoulders by making daily investment decisions on your behalf. Chris is also a life-insurance licensed agent, which allows him to provide full-picture, holistic financial advice to his clients, including tax-deferral, risk management and estate planning strategies through the use of insurance. Passionate about developing others, Chris mentors other advisory teams as part of our formal mentorship program, and is a past member of our Dominion Securities Advisory Board. This board, made up of a few, hand-picked, advisors of the firm, works with senior management to enhance the client experience through improved business operations.
Born and raised on the Island, Chris and his wife, Loriann, have deep roots in the community. They delight in contributing volunteer time and resources to several local organizations, including Glenlyon Norfolk School, where their sons, Nicholas and Nathan, attend.
