With his over 25 years of experience in the investment industry, and the extensive accreditation he has acquired during that time, Scott is well qualified to oversee the investment management of our client’s portfolios, which is his passion and his primary role on the team. In addition, Scott directly advises and manages a portion of our client relationships to ensure we deliver on our unique Navigator Wealth Management process and help our clients develop and implement strategies to achieve their financial goals.
A graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada and Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Scott has obtained both a Masters of Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce. A firm believer in ongoing education, he has acquired the advanced industry designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Combining his education and experience with RBC’s access to one of the most extensive selection of securities and products, Scott is able to build customized investment solutions that is designed to meet our client’s needs.
Outside of the office, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife Penny, daughter Emma, son Justin and dog Sammy, a Chihuahua-Boston Terrier mix. He also likes to ski, travel and golf and has been a member of the Vancouver Golf club for over 10 years.
Anthony Sandler, CIM
Associate Wealth Advisor
Anthony’s main focuses are to provide support for the maintenance of clients’ investment portfolios and assist with implementing strategies in our Navigator Wealth Management Process. With his years of experience in working with highly complex client relationships and portfolios, Anthony is ideally suited for his role.
Anthony works closely with Scott to implement the day to day transactions required to ensure our clients’ portfolios adhere strictly to the guidelines they set. Anthony will also assist Scott and Dennis with implementing specific wealth management strategies for our clients. This would include research, creating projections, and meeting with clients to explore options.
Prior to joining the Chan and Ross team, Anthony worked for four years with a successful investment advisory team in Toronto which managed over $1.5 billion in assets. Due to the complexity of the clientele, Anthony has gained broad exposure to families with a variety of planning needs and unique situations. He holds the Chartered Investment Manager designation and continues to pursue further accreditation in the wealth management area. Anthony also holds a Bachelor of Music from McGill University and prior to working in the financial industry, Anthony owned and managed his own music business in Toronto.
Anthony and his wife Katy’s love for the west coast, (where she grew up), was instrumental in their decision to move here with the family and bring his experience and expertise to our team.
They now live in Port Moody with their son Mathew and “mutt” Marlow, a mixed Collie cross. The Sandler family enjoys hiking, canoeing and a variety of outdoor activities.
Dennis Chan, CFP, CIM

Having worked exclusively in financial planning and advisory roles over his 25 years in the financial services industry, Dennis has always focused on the development and implementation of a proper financial plan for clients. He our unique Navigator Wealth Management Process to help our clients develop and implement strategies to achieve their financial goals.
Dennis specializes in working with entrepreneurs, leveraging our highly accredited group of internal advisors (wills and estates lawyers, business owner’s specialist, etc.) to help business clients clarify the complex planning issues associated with owning a successful business.
Another area of responsibility for Dennis is meeting with potential new clients who are referred to our team. Using a detailed discovery process, Dennis works to fully understand their goals and distinctive requirements and ensures that there is an appropriate fit for our services.
Dennis graduated from the University of British Columbia with a bachelor of arts with a major in economics in 1986. Since then, he has continued to add to his education credentials by acquiring the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation as well as becoming a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). RBC’s unmatched wealth management resources enhances Dennis’ capabilities in guiding our clients through every stage of their lives.
Dennis has been married to his wife Wendy for over 25 years and their two daughters Alison and Megan are attending the Sauder School of Business at UBC. The family enjoys taking “food safaris”– sampling unique and interesting dishes from a variety of countries. Dennis is an avid golfer and hockey player despite his limited skill in both sports and also enjoys trying recipes he sees on the Food Network.
Carrie’s primary role on the team is to monitor and maintain the delivery of our Navigator Wealth Management Process for our clients. In addition to managing the review schedules of the teams advisors (Scott and Dennis), she also coordinates the many RBC planning specialist that provide expert advice to our clients. Carrie’s ensures that we effectively address and deliver on every aspect of a comprehensive wealth plan to all our clients.
Carrie transitioned from her Client Advisor position at Royal Bank to join the Chan and Ross Wealth Management Team in 2015. Prior to joining the bank, she ran her own healthcare services practice for over 10 years. Her exceptional organizational skill and her previous experience as an entrepreneur allow her to manage her responsibilities in a highly efficient manner and ensure a high level of service for our clients.
Originally from Calgary, Carrie and her husband has been married for over 7 years. They have one daughter, Reece and a “fur baby” Hudson. Their family enjoys camping, hiking and anything outdoors. Their claim to fame is making “the best pulled pork west of the Rockies”.
As the individual charged with keeping our administrative documentation in order, Vashti has a critical role on our team. Her main responsibilities are account opening and maintenance, maintaining an accurate and up to date client information profiles and handling incoming client calls. Her role is important to maintaining our high standard of service to clients whether she is assisting our clients directly or ensuring requests are allocated to the appropriate team member.
Having worked in England with another bank in the Private Banking division, Vashti understands the importance of keeping accurate and comprehensive client records to allow our team to provide appropriate financial advice and diligent management of our client’s investments. Prior to working with our team, Vashti most recently held the position of Banking Advisor with the Port Moody Branch of RBC, assisting clients with their everyday banking, credit and investments needs. Vashti extensive education credentials includes being a member of the Association of Chartered Accountants in London and has completed her Investment Funds in Canada Course.
She lives in Port Moody with her husband Mitra, her son Vinai and daughter Avni. Having grown up in the Caribbean, Vashti loves hot spicy food, Calypso music and learning about new cultures.
