After graduating from the Richard Ivey School of business with an Honors Business Administration degree, Kevin went on to obtain his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation with Price water house Coopers. He spent 3 years in public accounting before moving into a career in corporate accounting and finance with various public companies in the insurance, software and mining industries. Kevin has worked on numerous projects around the world and also lived in Hong Kong, truly giving him a global business perspective. Before moving to RBC Dominion Securities he spent 5 years in the Executive Search industry, helping his clients build best in-class finance and accounting departments.

Kevin decided to become an investment advisor so he could utilize his extensive skills in financial analysis, planning and risk management to help his clients achieve their financial goals. Kevin is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Investment Manager and Licensed Insurance Representative (insurance services provided through RBC Wealth Management Financial Services Inc).

John Stairs has worked in finance for over 40 years, garnering an invaluable collection of knowledge and experience in wealth management. While his academic history began with a diploma in Business Administration, John is a lifelong learner who went on to be named a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) and later earned his Canadian Investment Manager designation. In 2005 John became a portfolio manager. 

After spending the early part of his career in Montreal, Saint John and Toronto, John joined RBC Dominion Securities in 1989. He has been a resident of Oakville for many years, and is an active part of the Halton community. John enjoys membership in the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association as well as the Rotary Club of Burlington North.  John takes pleasure in pastimes that include golf, flying his own airplane and travel.

Melina Manzel has over 21 years of experience in the Insurance Industry before changing her focus and joining the RBC Wealth Management team back in 2013.

Melina graduated Centennial College with a Business Studies Diploma and has also completed her Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI) and Associate Customer Service (ACS) designations. Most recently Melina has completed her Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and her Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH). Melina is committed to providing the teams clients with the highest level of service possible.

Born and raised in the Beaches area of Toronto, Melina has called Burlington ON home since 1997, where she enjoys spending time with her family and cycling many of the country roads the area has to offer.

Suzanne Schultz
Estate Planning Specialist

Suzanne Schultz is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Financial Planner with a specialty in tax and estate planning.

As an Estate Planning Specialist for RBC, she uses her knowledge of corporate and personal tax to develop personalized insurance solutions to meet the needs of business owners, highly taxed investors, affluent families and other clients. Prior to joining RBC in 2006, Suzanne was the Associate Vice-President of the Tax and Estate Planning Group of one of Canada’s leading multi-family office firms. She was previously a Tax Manager at one of the largest professional services companies where she completed her CA designation with an honour roll placing, and completed the CICA In-depth Tax Course. She has taken numerous courses on tax and estate planning, including masters level courses on U.S. taxes.

Suzanne is the co-author of 78 Tax Tips for Canadians for Dummies, host of the HGTV series House Poor and has been a regular guest on the Business News Network. She has written articles and contributed towards publications for the Globe and Mail, National Post, Toronto Star and Hamilton Spectator.


Rebecca Henri

Rebecca brings over 10 years of financial planning experience to her role, as well as an academic background that is both impressive and ongoing. She received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Trent University, holds the Certified Financial Planner designation from the Financial Planners Standards Council of Canada, and has completed the Professional Financial Planner, Canadian Securities and other industry courses. In recent years, Rebecca has worked extensively with high net worth clients that include business owners, executives and professionals, and has gained considerable expertise with advanced tax and estate planning strategies.

Catherine Nicholls
Wills and Estates Consultant

Catherine received her Law Degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1978, and has been a member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1980. She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Estate Planning Council of Niagara and the Niagara In House Legal Council Group.

Prior to joining RBC DS, Catherine was a partner in a small law firm, primarily practicing law in the areas of residential real estate, will and estate planning, and estate administration. Catherine joined a major trust company as a Senior Will and Estate Planner in 1996, and has since then focused exclusively on this area of law. Catherine joined RBC DS in December of 2007, and assists clients with their complete financial picture by reviewing their estate plans in order to leave the legacy they desire.


Mark Skeggs
Business Owner Specialist

As a business owner specialist, Mark partners with Brockie Wealth Management to explore tax, estate, succession and retirement planning issues you encounter as a business owner. Prior to joining RBC, Mark spent 14 years in the Private Company Services tax group of a Big 4 accounting firm in Toronto. Acting as a trusted business advisor for Ultra High Net Worth families, Mark was responsible for the creation and implementation of effective strategies for wealth preservation and accumulation in the context of tax, estate and succession planning for owners-managers of private companies, senior executives of public companies and professional athletes.

Mark is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and a Trust and Estate Practitioner. He has completed the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioner Advance Certificate in Family Business Advising, all three levels of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountant in-depth Tax course, as well as the Advanced Tax Issues for the Owner-Managed Business Course and the Corporate Reorganizations Course. Mark has served as Chair of the Board of Evaluators for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and Treasurer for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ontario. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from Queen's University.
