Avideh Parent B.A., LL.B., TEP

Will & Estate Consultant

Avideh is an experienced lawyer with a strong commitment to educating people on the importance of estate planning. Avideh works closely with Brad, and his team, to provide you with information on structuring your estate in an efficient and tax-effective manner. Following your meeting, Avideh will provide you with a report outlining various estate planning issues for you to explore in further detail with your own lawyer or accountant.

Avideh received her undergraduate degree from Carleton University and went to Law School at the University of Alberta. In 2001 she was called to the Alberta Bar and prior to joining RBC, devoted her law practice to Wills, Estate Planning, and Estate Administration.

Your process starts with a meeting with Brad and Avideh to discuss the wide range of estate objectives you may wish to achieve. Occasionally, in an effort to minimize income taxes or avoid probate taxes, another objective is thwarted. For this reason, Brad and Avideh will help you assess the costs and benefits of the many different options for you in the development of your will and estate plan. Common elements of an estate plan are included in our Estate Planning publication.

When most people hear the term estate planning, they typically think of their will. While a valid will is a fundamental component of any estate plan, there are many other elements that must be considered. By planning for tomorrow – more of your estate assets can be retained, while protecting your estate and leaving a lasting legacy for your family.
