After studying law and taxation in University, Sebastien began his career with large accounting firms. For more than a decade, he worked with private companies and their owners to assist them with their tax needs, including corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning, compensation planning and representations to tax authorities.
In 2011, Sebastien made the leap to the financial institutions industry by joining a major Canadian bank. Initially acting as a tax and estate planning advisor to high net worth clients, he was then asked to lead a new team of eight professionals serving the Ultra High Net Worth segment, providing specialized and integrated expertise in personal private banking services, investment management and wealth planning (financial, tax and estate planning). Sebastien then established a leading national planning team for the high net worth client segment. Initially leading a team of 50 professionals newly assembled under his leadership, Sebastien grew the team to more than 125 people across the country, and added a business succession planning service for entrepreneurs, as well as a philanthropy.
In January 2020, feeling the need to get closer to the client, his first passion, Sebastien joined the Bourque Rainville Group, a dynamic, leading team that offers clients the best in wealth management. His role is, among other things, to identify and coordinate all wealth planning services for the Group's clients.
