This senior portfolio manager draws upon his accounting background and capital markets experience to craft and manage a custom, tax-optimized wealth plan and strategic investment portfolio for each of the families with whom he works. In addition to advising clients, Bruce also leads the Ascendant Wealth Partners Wealth Management and Family Office Services Committee.
A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA, FCA), Bruce previously served as a portfolio manager and Managing Director at a leading Canadian wealth management boutique, for more than 26 years. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Stanford University, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy and a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with Great Distinction) from McGill University.
Beyond his duty to his clients, over the last two decades, Bruce has dedicated significant time and resources to his community through extensive charitable work. Currently, he holds leadership positions within the Jewish Agency for Israel on the Board of Governors, as a member of the Executive Committee, and as Chair of the Aliya Committee for immigration and absorption. He is the Chairman of the World Board of Trustees of Keren Hayesod – United Israel Appeal. He is a past Chair of its Budget and Finance, Global Endowment Board and Investment committees.
In addition, Bruce has sat on the boards of, chaired, and presided over various prominent Jewish organizations, including the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, the Bathurst Jewish Community Centre, and the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University’s investment committee. Furthermore, he is a member of the Art Gallery of Ontario’s fundraising community, the AGO Photography Circle.
Bruce spends as much of his down time as he can with his family – with wife, Lianne, and their three daughters, Rachel, Danielle, and Stephanie. He is an aspiring golfer and loves the water, wake-surfing, kayaking, and scuba diving when he’s able. He also enjoys exploring the world of wine with friends and family.
