Adrian joined RBC Dominion Securities in 1996 from another leading full-service investment dealer. Since this time he has helped many individuals, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations realize their financial planning goals. Through strategic asset allocation he is committed to achieving consistent results while maintaining a conservative approach to portfolio management.

Adrian's Associate Portfolio Manager accreditation enables him to offer portfolio management services with Private Investment Management. Only a select group of Investment Advisors are able to offer this elite and prestigious service which focuses on the management of the portfolios on a discretionary basis, while working towards client personal and professional goals.

Since receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Ryerson University in 1991, he has continued to improve his knowledge in the investment industry. Adrian has achieved the designations of Certified Investment Manager (CIM) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) in 1995. The FCSI is one of the highest honours of the investment industry. It recognizes professionals who have met strict standards for industry experience and advanced education.

Adrian is committed to education. He was a former instructor for the Canadian Securities Institute for 5 years, and is also a registered Continuing Education Professor at Seneca College. He developed an interest as an educator while volunteer teaching for Junior Achievement of Peel, where he continues to dedicate his time to providing youth in Mississauga with a positive role model to help guide them into being productive and contributing members of their community. Adrian is the author of Investment Tactics, an online educational tool designed to provide novice to intermediate investors with the knowledge they need to understand both terminology and concepts associated with financial planning.

Over the past 13 years Adrian prides himself in helping clients understand all aspects of their financial plan and enlists the help of other allied professionals both internally and externally to meet and exceed the expectations of the clients he serves

Sharan Chahal is the newest member of my team. She graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Finance.

Sharan had formerly been working for RBC Financial Group for a period of 5 years and joined RBC Dominion Securities as my licensed Associate Advisor in early 2010. As my associate her primary role is to support my client’s goals through various administrative functions. Beyond this, Sharan and I regularly discuss our client’s goals and objectives and in addition to providing valuable insight she is also responsible for helping to implement financial plans and create projections.

Taking a special interest in wealth preservation and growth, Sharan has taken personal financial planning courses and plans to further her knowledge by enrolling in the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) course.

Catherine Nicholls, LL.B., TEP

Will and Estate Consultant

Catherine Nicholls is an in-house lawyer who acts as a will and estate consultant for our clients. When requested by our clients, Catherine reviews our clients' wills and powers of attorney for personal care and property, meets with them to discuss their circumstances and estate planning objectives, and prepares a detailed report with recommendations.

Catherine received her Law Degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1978 and has been a member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1980. She was a partner in a small law firm and primarily practiced law in the areas of residential real estate, Will and estate planning and estate administration. 

She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Estate Planning Council of Niagara and the Niagara In House Legal Council Group.


Grant Henri, CFP, PFP, Pl.fin

Financial Planning Specialist

Over the last 3 years, Grant has been providing support on tax, legal, estate and retirement planning strategies for advisors at RBC. Grant has 20 years of progressive experience in various roles within the financial services field, including 14 years with RBC. Grant attended Concordia University in Montreal where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. He holds three financial planning designations, a specialist designation from the Trust institute, and is working towards his TEP designation with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Grant has written several articles on these subjects which are part of the firm's library of financial planning content available to our clients. He also provides support to the Financial Planners Standards Council of Canada as a subject matter expert and has been teaching retirement and estate planning at George Brown College in Toronto
