Mary is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). She has received her Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie and a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University. Mary has completed and tutored the CICA In-Depth Tax Course.
Prior to joining RBC in 2008, Mary was employed as a Senior Manager, Tax where she specialized in tax planning for individuals and their owner-managed entities. During her career Mary has been employed by two of the large international public accounting firms and has a broad range of experience in mergers and acquisitions, business succession, estate and trust planning and overall tax minimization.
Mary’s role is to work with and support your advisor in preparing and presenting comprehensive Compass Financial Plans for clients.

Paul has extensive experience in the financial services industry, having begun his career in 1998. Paul has obtained: a bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) from Dalhousie University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from St. Mary’s University. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Certified Health Specialist (CHS). He is also a member of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU) and Advocis.
Christy obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree (Anthropology) from the University of Waterloo in 2006 and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Dalhousie University in 2009. She was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2010.
Following her call to the Bar, Christy was in private practice with a large regional firm and practiced primarily in the areas of Wills, estates and trust law and litigation. Beginning in 2013, she worked exclusively in the area of Will and estate planning with a major trust company. Christy joined RBC Wealth Management in 2018.
Christy is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society.
As a Senior Trust Advisor, Darlene Walker serves clients throughout the Atlantic region and is located in the Halifax office. Darlene provides a wealth of knowledge relating to trusts and their administration. With a career focused on building client relationships, she is dedicated to her clients and provides a personalized service tailored to their specific needs.
A graduate of Algonquin College in Ottawa, Darlene has continued to deepen her knowledge and expertise with key industry designations including the Certified Financial Planning (CFP), the Professional Financial Practitioner (PFP), and Member, Trust Institute (MTI) designations.
Darlene works with individuals, families and businesses to provide customized estate, trust and incapacity solutions. Whether it is helping someone to settle an estate, establishing a trust to ensure the successful transfer of family assets, or arranging to assist with the administration and responsibilities for a Power of Attorney, Darlene can help.

Shakir currently resides in Halifax and spends his free time Hiking, Fishing and connecting with his peers.

This experience provided Kim countless opportunities to build deep and meaningful relationships with many of Canada’s leading philanthropists in order to help them realize their charitable giving goals and engage in bespoke engagement opportunities.
With this unique perspective on the intersection of charitable gift planning and major gifts fundraising, Kim works alongside the wider RBC Family Office Services professionals to provide strategic advice and guidance to high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients in developing their charitable giving and legacy plans as part of their broader wealth management planning.
Based in Toronto, Kim is a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners, holds the Master Financial Advisor – Philanthropy certification and an undergraduate degree from American University in International Studies with a focus on International Development in Africa.
