La Banque du Canada a de nouveau abaissé son taux directeur en mars, le faisant passer de 3 % à 2,75 %.

La Banque du Canada a réduit son taux directeur d’un autre quart de point en mars dans un contexte d’intensification des tensions commerciales aux États-Unis. La dernière mesure marque la septième baisse consécutive, faisant passer le taux de financement à un jour de 3,00 % à 2,75 %.
La banque centrale du Canada a déclaré que l’économie canadienne avait commencé l’année sur des bases solides, mais a ajouté que les tensions commerciales croissantes et les tarifs douaniers américains devraient « ralentir le rythme de l’activité économique et accroître les pressions inflationnistes au Canada ».
