In any given year, 1 in 5 Canadians will personally experience a mental health issue or illness. This year, there is an undeniably higher degree of stress for many Canadians, given the uncertainty and strain of the current global health crisis.

RBC Foundation combating COVID-19 mental health crisis

That’s why the RBC Foundation is supporting mental health initiatives that are vital to relief efforts for people across Canada. We are proud to partner with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), the nationwide leader and champion for mental health support services. We are also contributing at the local level, with a $200,000 donation to HEADSTRONG Summits, in support of the national anti-stigma initiative’s efforts to inspire and teach youth ages 12 to 18 how to reduce the stigma around mental illness, and encourage them to become mental health champions in their individual communities.

In recognition of Mental Health Week, RBC Dominion Securities branches across Canada are supporting their local CMHA chapter with donations through the RBC Foundation. At this critical time, we are proud to further CMHA’s mission to improve the well-being of Canadians struggling with mental health.

No one should face a mental health issue alone. Our financial commitment to CMHA and HEADSTRONG Summits is just one way we at RBC aim to show Canadians that when it comes to mental health, we stand strong beside them.
