Rhonda Hymers is the founder of Hymers Wealth Management Group of RBC Dominion Securities, a distinguished advisory team at Canada's leading wealth management firm.
After joining RBC as an advisor, Rhonda recruited a team of dedicated experts to help build her practice into the future. Her results-driven planning and high standards, ethics and integrity have made her one of the top advisors (and leader of one of the top teams) at RBC Dominion Securities. Her success resulted in her invitation to become a member of the Executive Council in 2003, a Vice-President of the firm in 2006 and, in 2010, a member of the firm’s Chairman’s Council advisory group. The Chairman’s Council recognizes the firm’s leading Portfolio Managers, a privilege she has had the honour of achieving each consecutive year since that time.
In 2013, Rhonda received an RBC Leo Award in recognition of the quality of service she provides to her clients. The RBC Leo Award is given out each year to the top 0.1% of RBC’s 80,000 employees around the world. Rhonda’s achievement is particularly significant as she is the first Investment Advisor to ever receive the award.
In January 2016, Rhonda was appointed Director of RBC Dominion Securities, a title awarded to advisors who have upheld the firm’s highest standards of ethics in practice. It’s yet another milestone in a career committed to giving clients the best, most comprehensive and valuable service every day.
With over 24 years of investment industry experience with RBC Dominion Securities, Rhonda is dedicated to delivering expert wealth management advice and knowledge to clients. She specializes in working with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, including retirees, business owners and sports professionals. Rhonda’s clients benefit from her ongoing professional development and truly comprehensive expertise in wealth management and financial planning. By meeting stringent accreditation, Rhonda is a licensed Portfolio Manager, allowing her to deliver the highest level of advisor-managed portfolio service to clients with sophisticated financial needs. This is one of the most highly esteemed designations available in the investment industry.
Rhonda has achieved the Professional Financial Planning, Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) and the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designations. She holds the Options & Derivatives License and is a life-licensed agent, which qualifies her to advise you on tax deferral, risk management and complex estate-planning strategies through the use of life insurance. Rhonda’s expertise and professionalism have earned her the coveted Fellowship of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designation, the industry’s highest award of distinction that recognizes leading professionals for their outstanding educational dedication, experience and record of achievement.
Given the importance of helping you transition your wealth through various life stages, including the transition from working to retirement, Rhonda and her team take an all-encompassing approach with special attention given to creating a tax-efficient income stream from investments. Rhonda also holds the Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designation, which furthers her knowledge in family business to help entrepreneurial Canadian families keep their legacies alive.
With a passionate interest in the quality of health care in the Okanagan both today and in the years to come, Rhonda has proudly served as a committee member of the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation’s “Take Care, Take Part” campaign, a $6 million initiative to support the expansion of the Kelowna General Hospital. Rhonda has been the lead sponsor for the Breakfast Club of Canada’s Okanagan fundraising efforts from 2013-2018, during which time the club raised $500,000 to feed children who may have otherwise started their days on an empty stomach. She is on the board of directors of the Third Space Life Charity, which offers counseling services and community programs to support mental health, regardless of financial barriers. She was also involved in the 2014 Sauder School of Business’s “Women Business Leaders Share Perspectives on Women’s Advancement at Work.”
