Born and raised in Vancouver, my professional life has been focussed on gaining Hospitality Industry experience in this competitive and internationally recognized market.

Over the years I have worked many positions ranging from dishwasher to Executive Chef and Busser to Director of Food and Beverage. The recent acquisition of my degree equipped me for the challenges I face now as a Director of Operations of an 8-kitchen professional Culinary and Baking & Pastry school that also includes a 60 seat dining room with a 24 seat patio and 12 seat bakery/café.

My education includes a Diploma of Hospitality Administration from BCIT, Chef de Cuisine certification by the Canadian Culinary Institute, and dual Diplomas as a Sommelier by both the International Sommelier Guild (ISG) and the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET). The WSET organization has also awarded me with the Level 3 Assessor status, allowing him to instruct their wine education classes. During my tenure as WSET Approved Program Provider/Instructor for the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts, the wine program was rated 3rd worldwide. Elevating their program over more than 2000 other APP’s internationally. In addition to my Hospitality Administration Diploma, I am presently enrolled in Bachelor Degree Program in Hospitality Administration at VCC.

Stephanie Stanley,
Wine Maker, O’Rourke Peak Cellars

A true Okanagan native, Stephanie Stanley was born and raised in the Okanagan Valley and is well-experienced with all grape varieties in the region. She received a Bachelor of Science with Honours from Brock University’s Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture program in 2003 where she was also awarded the President’s Medal. From 2003 to 2015 Stephanie was mentored by esteemed winemaker, Howard Soon, at Sandhill Wines. During that time, she also worked as the lead winemaker for Wayne Gretzky Okanagan when it launched in British Columbia, as well as lead winemaker for Peller Estates Okanagan. Stephanie left Andrew Peller in 2015 to propel her career by working two vintages each year for the next four years, dividing her time evenly between New Zealand (at Wither Hills, Marlborough) and the Okanagan. During her 2016 visit back to the Okanagan, she installed and commissioned the new Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards winery; in 2017 & 2018, she worked at Peak Cellars. Stephanie has been leading the winemaking at Peak Cellars since August 2019.  Her expertise and professionalism are integral to the winemaking team.

Once we have received your RSVP (note: July 5 is the cut-off to RSVP), we will arrange to courier everything needed to your home in a climate-controlled package. The wine selections in your package will be a surprise!

Virtual vineyard:

Introduction to Tim Ellison, our special guest speaker, and Wine Maker at O’Rourke Peak Cellar, Stephanie Stanley, for an introduction to a brief slideshow with highlights of the winery’s historic architecture, terroir and vineyards.

Wine tasting:

Progress though each of the wines in your selected package, along with your cheese and cracker enhancements.

Sip tips:

Alongside our wine tasting, Tim Ellison will add some fun and entertaining pointers on etiquette and helpful tips for the new COVID-19 era.
