The article below was originally written in November when the US markets had hit a fresh all-time high, but now, just over a month later, it feels relevant once again to post this article as we hit another fresh round of all-time highs. Although it is easy to think that all-time highs are a precursor for an impending correction, it is important to point out how common all-time highs are, and how these milestones do not materially affect long-term returns. These new highs should not cloud your investment decisions -- rather they provide an excellent opportunity to ensure you have a financial plan in place so you are prepared for whatever lies ahead.
