It would be great if life were plain sailing but it’s not. My passion is to bring clarity to people as they face changes, so they can look forward with confidence. I have a talent for listening to people and for designing unique plans that change as they do, so you always know where you’re going. I’m also a deep thinker who loves sharing adventures and speed sports with my family.
My professional qualifications include the CIM designation, which means I’m a Portfolio Manager who invests for clients on a discretionary basis. I also have a PhD in English Literature from Oxford University. Before taking on my current role at RBC, I worked as an Associate Professor in the UK, and the academic background has given me an international outlook and a preference for the long-term that continue to benefit my work for clients as a Portfolio Manager. The best things I enjoy about my job are the close relationships I have developed with clients, and the pleasure of having team members become friends.
I’m a big believer in being active in the community. I served for many years on the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce board of directors, including as Chair, and continue to be an active member of the Rotary Club of Sarnia. Our signature Pancake Breakfast fundraiser in July is a great community favourite.
My wife and I share a taste for adventure and we’ve always sought to make this a family affair. We’ve lived in the UK, France and even Malaysia, and can get by in five languages. In Canada we love backcountry canoeing: the longer the portages, the better. I enjoy all sports requiring self-control at high speed, especially skiing, cycling and horseback riding. So far, I’ve only convinced the family to join me skiing.

It’s not every day that you encounter someone who loves what they do! Each day brings a new challenge and I have an amazing team to experience it with.
I am deeply committed to the people who place their trust in me and our team. Their trust is a constant reminder that there are a lot of families counting on us. It’s a sobering responsibility but one we embrace. For me, nothing is more fulfilling than helping people feel confident and comfortable about their financial future.
I grew up on a small farm outside of Hamilton, so I try to take advantage of everything that Sarnia and the surrounding communities have to offer. When I’m not at the family office, you’re likely to find me exploring nature with my husband and children, decorating birthday cakes or getting my 6 a.m. five kilometer run in along the lake.

There aren’t many things that can grow a business the way that trust and dependability can, and I pride myself in being so dedicated to both. We are a tight-knit family office that values making lasting connections with every client we meet. I’m a big believer that a strong team brings strong results. As Bo Schembechler famously said, “The Team, the Team, the Team. No person is more important than the Team.” It’s great to work with people who see the world the same way.
Born and raised in the small town of Wallaceburg, I’ve kept the small town values close to heart. I’m open-minded and helpful, good at relating to people and understanding their needs in life, and I have a strong desire to see them achieve their goals.
I’m always trying to improve myself, reading books, listening to podcasts, expanding my circle of knowledge. I’m passionate about markets, and I have recently completed my Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification. I enjoy travelling and cooking. I am an avid sports fan (Go Blue!) with a passion for following sports stats. Confession: I’ve got a love / hate relationship with the golf course.

I am passionate about connecting with our clients and getting to know them on a personal level, whether it’s listening to a family story or sharing a laugh. With unstoppable enthusiasm, I strive to make every interaction meaningful and fun.
I’m affectionately known as our chief organizer and for good reason. I meticulously prepare portfolio reviews and keep the team up to date on compliance and regulatory changes. I help clients make financial planning a priority by staying on top of meeting review bookings, as well as tax and financial reporting.
The truth is, when I’m not providing top notch service to our clients, I can be found singing along to the office radio or busting out my amazing dance moves. I’m a self-proclaimed trivia whiz, comedian and gift-wrapping extraordinaire. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, playing outside with my daughters and crushing crossword puzzles.
