Wealth Advisor
Richard has worked on the wealth side of banking since 1999. Having started with Nesbitt Burns as a summer student, he moved into the discount brokerage business at TD Waterhouse, followed by positions as a financial advisor and financial planner with TD, where he stayed for 15 years.
In 2019, Richard transitioned his business to RBC. Today, he is a wealth advisor, quarterbacking his team of talented financial professionals — including a portfolio manager, financial planner, and administrator. In his current role, Richard looks after estate, insurance, and tax planning for his clients and manages the client relationship side of the business.
Richard comes to the financial planning industry from a place of personal trial. Following his parents’ divorce and ensuing financial hardship, he knew there had to be a way to be more financially prepared for life’s changes and events. His experience means he is a caring, patient, and thoughtful financial partner to his clients. Richard follows the mantra: “Do what’s best for your clients, and everything else will follow. Care for your clients like they are your family.” He feels truly gratified to provide his clients with financial confidence and comfort following a financial planning session or retirement discussion.
Richard graduated from Algonquin College with a Business Administration Diploma, with a double major in Information Systems and Finance. He has since acquired his Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Financial Management Advisor (FMA) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designations and completed the first level of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
Outside of work, Richard loves to play hockey, coach his kids in a variety of sports, and enjoy some quiet time to relax. Recently, he and his wife of 20 years, Isabelle, have started hiking, exploring the natural wilderness around them. Driven to give back to his community, he is currently a board member with the Greely Lions Clubs and has held every volunteer position on a sports team imaginable. Isabelle is the president of the Greely Community Association, and by default, Richard spends a great deal of time volunteering for them as well.
Associate Wealth & Investment Advisor
Stephanie has spent nearly 25 years in the financial industry, holding various financial planning and advisory positions at other financial institutions and RBC Dominion Securities. Taught at an early age about the benefits of compound interest by her father, who ran a successful financial firm, Stephanie was hooked on investing from a young age. Thanks to her father, she also learned the importance of work ethic, fair treatment of others, trust, and loyalty — qualities she carries through to her work every day.
As an Associate Wealth and Investment Advisor, Stephanie loves helping her clients achieve their retirement goals and navigate their investment decisions. She takes the time to get to know her clients — their work, family, hobbies, and pets — and is therefore in a position to develop a financial plan that takes their lifestyle and priorities into consideration.
Throughout her journey, Stephanie has become a dedicated advocate for women’s financial literacy and independence and has specialized in working with widows and divorcees. All her clients appreciate how Stephanie truly cares about them and their financial outcomes, which provides them with financial comfort and confidence.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and has earned her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. Outside of work, she enjoys golfing, gardening, and spending time with her husband, Dominic, and their two dogs. She is also a member of the executive for the Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association (EODSA) Board of Directors
Assistant
Carrie’s career in financial services began 25 years ago. After spending 17 years with TD Bank in a variety of customer service capacities, she left to be a stay-at-home mom for seven years. She started her career again with RBC Dominion Securities, first as a Branch Operations Assistant before moving to the Popp team as their Assistant.
An award-winning administrator, Carrie is responsible for opening accounts, estates, compliance, moving assets, booking client review meetings, and processing payments and contributions. She truly enjoys the administrative side of the financial industry and building relationships with clients. In return, clients appreciate the care she takes to service their needs efficiently and promptly: her recent RBC Award of Excellence win is a testament to not just the quality of work she does but how she does it.
Outside of work, Carrie enjoys playing hockey, walking, and spending time with friends. She can often be found driving her three kids, Tanner, Riley, and Peyton, to their various sports or volunteering with their competitive teams.
