Kooy Wealth Management volunteered at Fusion Saturday evening, happily distributing wine glasses to guests as they entered this magnificent event!  Fusion is Southwestern Ontario’s premier food and wine event, taking place over 2 days at the DeGroots Nurseries in Sarnia. The festival features award-winning food and wines from all over Ontario, and showcases local and national attractions. All proceeds raised from ticket sales are generously donated to Lambton County Developmental Services, a non-profit social service agency committed to providing quality supports for people with developmental disabilities and contributing to the communities where they operate.

We had the pleasure of presenting the staff and youth at Rebound’s The Hub, with a donation of $2,500 from RBC Dominion Securities.  We even brought along 25 cupcakes to help celebrate!

At least 31 community agencies, have collaborated to create the safe space with support services like Ontario Works, housing and social programs, access to mental health and addictions supports, and room for people to relax, have a hot meal and a shower.

The HUB is open to all youth between the ages of 16-24 and is operated by Sarnia-Lambton Rebound, and is always fully staffed by fully trained, caring staff.

While driving back from seeing some wonderful clients in Grand Bend, we stopped to see "Miracle Max's Minions". It's six acres of sunflowers planted in memory of a special little 2 year old boy from Thedford, who passed away earlier this year after battling leukemia.  The farm is located along Douglas Line near Forest.  You should check it out!

Did you know that our local Community Living supports more than 400 children and adults with developmental and intellectual challenges in Sarnia and Lambton County each year? Community Living Sarnia-Lambton's Painting the Day Program freshens it all up and makes it much more inviting for the people that are supported by Community Living on a daily basis.  Kooy Wealth Management's own Jen Mitchell (top photo - 2nd from the right) had the pleasure of volunteering for this amazing program.

RBC is building a house near you. Along with other organizations, we’re partnering with the great folks at Habitat for Humanity to help build a house in Corunna for a family that will get the benefit of home ownership. The program is very smart: Habitat for Humanity organizes the build and sources material, supervised volunteers help with the build, and the family then buys the finished house from Habitat, usually via a mortgage that Habitat holds. That’s Wes and me on the right, along with other volunteers from RBC offices across the county.
