The RRSP contribution deadline for the 2022 tax year is approaching! Although the contribution deadline is March 1st, the last day to submit an online contribution is February 27th for the funds to be processed in time. Please note we are unable to backdate the contributions to the date it was sent. We would be glad to help if you require any assistance with making an online contribution.
In general, your RRSP contribution limit is 18% of your 2021 earned income or $29,210 – whichever is less. However, there may be other factors that affect your contribution room, such as unused contribution room from prior years. Check your latest Notice of Assessment, or log on to your Canada Revenue Agency account at www.cra-arc.gc.ca/myaccount to determine your personal contribution room.
You can give your RRSP a boost by contributing early and thus, giving your assets more time to benefit from tax-deferred compound growth. Contributions for 2023 can be made as early as January 1st, 2023, and the contribution limit is increasing to $30,780 for 2023.
