Spreading Holiday Cheer: RBC DS Lethbridge Volunteers with MyCityCare

The Lethbridge Branch of RBC Dominion Securities is proud to highlight our recent community involvement with MyCityCare, an organization that works tirelessly to support our neighbours in need right here in Southern Alberta.

As the holiday season approached, our team had the truly heartwarming opportunity to volunteer and help bring Christmas joy to local low-income families through MyCityCare’s incredible holiday gift program.

A Meaningful Day of Giving

During our time volunteering, our team was on-site to greet participating families, helping them select and wrap thoughtful Christmas gifts for their children. It was a wonderful experience to connect with these families and share in the excitement of choosing the perfect present.

"The spirit of giving and community was palpable during our shift. Seeing the relief and joy on the parents' faces as they selected gifts that they otherwise couldn't afford was a profoundly moving experience for all of us," said a member of the RBC DS Lethbridge team.

Making Christmas Dreams Come True

Thanks to the tireless work and exceptional coordination of the MyCityCare team and its network of donors, countless children who might otherwise go without Christmas presents will now receive wonderful gifts on Christmas morning. This initiative ensures that financial hardship does not dim the magic of the holiday season for our community’s youngest members.

The mission of MyCityCare aligns perfectly with our values at RBC Dominion Securities Lethbridge—to build stronger, more vibrant communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

We encourage everyone in Lethbridge and the surrounding areas to learn more about the incredible work MyCityCare does year-round and consider supporting their future initiatives.

The RBC Dominion Securities Lethbridge Branch is committed to giving back to the community that supports us. We believe that by volunteering our time and resources, we can help make a lasting, positive impact in Southern Alberta.

Supporting Our Community: Volunteering at the Interfaith Food Bank

At RBC Wealth Management, community involvement is more than a value—it is a responsibility we embrace with pride. This season, our Lethbridge team had the privilege of volunteering at the Interfaith Food Bank, an organization that plays a vital and inspiring role in supporting local families.

For decades, the Interfaith Food Bank has been a pillar of hope for individuals and households experiencing food insecurity in Lethbridge. Their work extends far beyond distributing food hampers. The organization provides nutritional education, family support programs, community kitchen classes, and partnerships that strengthen the social fabric of our city. Every day, the staff and volunteers of the Food Bank ensure that those facing challenging times feel seen, supported, and cared for.

Our Day of Giving Back

As the holidays approach, the need within the community grows—and so does the opportunity to help. Our team was honoured to contribute by assisting with Christmas decorating, bringing warmth and festive spirit into the building for clients, volunteers, and families who rely on the Food Bank’s services.

We were also especially happy to help prepare a festive appreciation dinner for the Food Bank’s volunteers. Our team cooked trays of lasagna, pasta dishes, and baked fresh cookies—meals prepared to show gratitude to the many dedicated individuals who give their time to serve the community throughout the year.

Why This Work Matters

The Interfaith Food Bank serves thousands of Lethbridge residents annually. Their impact reaches:

  • Families and children who need consistent access to healthy food
  • Seniors living on fixed incomes
  • Newcomers and vulnerable individuals adjusting to life in Canada
  • Community groups benefiting from educational and nutritional support programs

Their work ensures that no one in our community is left behind, especially during the winter months when support is needed most.

A Meaningful Experience for Our Team

Volunteering at the Food Bank reminded us of the power of collective effort. Small contributions—a few hours of time, a decorated tree, a warm meal—can make an outsized difference when we act together.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support an organization that uplifts so many in Lethbridge, and we extend our appreciation to the incredible staff and volunteers who keep the Interfaith Food Bank thriving year-round.

As we enter the holiday season, we encourage others to support local organizations making a positive impact. Whether through volunteering, donations, or spreading awareness, every act of kindness strengthens our community.
