Founder of the Lappan Wealth Management Group, Joe has been providing financial advice to a select group of families for over 25 years. In fact, many of his initial clients are still with him and the trust spans across 3 generations.
Joe is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts and British Columbia Institute of Technology with a Diploma of Technology, Marketing Management. A strong believer in continuingly strengthening and maintaining his knowledge, Joe has obtained the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Investment Manager (CIM) and Derivatives Market Specialist (DMS) designations. He also holds a Futures/ Commodities License and is licensed in British Columbia as a Life Insurance Agent. Joe is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) and is committed to over 30 hours of education in wealth management each year (including retirement and estate planning). Joe also believes in consistent and valuable communication with his clients. He publishes a quarterly newsletter and various articles on his website. Joe has also been a frequent financial market guest commentator on a local radio show.
Joe, along with his wife Shelly and their three children are residents of North Vancouver. He and his family enjoy hiking, cycling and skiing. A long-time Karate instructor, Joe has traveled to Japan to upgrade his qualifications and is on the JKA BC technical committee. As an NCCP qualified coach, Joe also volunteers as a referee and judge at provincial tournaments and the BC Winter Games. Understanding the importance of community Joe is a regular supporter of many community organizations including the Downtown Eastside Services, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver. Joe has also taught the Dollars With Sense program supported by Junior Achievement and offered through area high schools.
