Mobility services include road transportation fuel & charging solutions for electric vehicles. You may be familiar with the brands the company operates: Couche-Tard, Circle K, Mac’s, and Ingo.

The successful convenience store operation began in 1980 when Alain Bouchard opened a convenience store in Laval, Quebec. Bouchard saw the opportunity to serve new customers and continued to acquire more stores across the province. By 1985, the company had grown to own 34 stores, which were renamed under the Couche-Tard brand. Alimentation Couche-Tard continued to expand into Ontario, Western Canada, and the United States. In the early 2000s, Couche-Tard became the leading convenience retailer in Canada and the 9th largest in North America.

In 2003, Couche-Tard acquired Circle K, a successful company in the convenience sector with history that spans over 60 years. From there, Couche-Tard continued to expand into Mexico, South East Asia, and Europe. Currently, there are 14,000 stores within 24 countries and territories that employ over 122,000 individuals.

Alimentation Couche-Tard provides services and products we need every day. The company adapted during the Pandemic by offering curb side pickup and home delivery services. In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022, the company’s revenue was up by $4.2 billion, an increase of 34.3% compared to the corresponding quarter of fiscal 2021. The increase in revenue is attributable to the increase in the average selling price of transportation fuel and other fuel products, acquisitions, and the organic growth on merchandise and service sales.

A recent accomplishment of Alimentation Couche-Tard was being named on Forbes’ 2021 list of the “World’s Best Employers.” It was the only Canadian retailer recognized among 750 companies worldwide.
