If you have visited our website recently, you might have noticed we have made some changes. We want our website and our blog, Jim’s Thoughts, to be a valued resource that provides food for thought along with educational materials to guide you on your path to financial independence.

Over the years we have found it difficult at times to gauge the volume and types of information our clients would like to receive. As Portfolio Manager, I want you to be kept informed but not overwhelmed by information. We want to be mindful as each investor approaches this a little differently.

I am very excited to have started our blog, Jim’s Thoughts. It has been a dream of mine to be able to share my thoughts in my own words and I am thrilled with the feedback we have received so far. We will be using this forum as our main way of sharing information, so be sure to subscribe!

Below I have highlighted some of the resources you will find under the respective tabs on our website.

Insights
If you would like to read information on the markets on a Daily, Weekly or Monthly basis then the RBC Dominion Securities Insights reports are for you. It provides commentary and access to research published by the firm. You will also find the Perspectives magazine which highlights investment, tax, and lifestyle issues. If you would like a hard copy at any time, please send us a quick note and we would be happy to send you one.

Quick Facts
If you are looking for this year’s TFSA & RRSP contribution limit, tax mailing dates, or other financial planning facts, this is where you will find it! Under the quick facts, there is also a printable PDF called 2020 Handy Financial Planning Facts. This is an amazing tool to refer to as it has everything from contribution limits to deadlines and tax rates.

Educational Articles
We have added a selection of articles that we think are pertinent to some commonly asked questions. These articles are very informative and outline some important concepts that are worth considering. Some examples of the topics covered are Estate Planning, Tax Planning, Registered Accounts, Charitable Giving and more.

Compound Calculator
The compound calculator is a great tool to visualize how your money can grow. The key to investing is time. The sooner you start, the greater the compounding of your net worth and income will be.

Jim’s Thoughts
This is our blog! Our main goal is to share useful and timely information that we believe will be helpful in achieving your financial independence. Our blog is not meant to overwhelm you with information but share my thoughts.
