No, it's not...at least geographically it isn't. 

 

What about in terms of output though? You have seen me talk about home bias in previous posts (click here if you want  a refresh), but what am I really saying when I talk about that. An interesting tweet from Barry Ritholz last week had the following image attached to it and I could not believe the output figures of each state relative to countries (yes....I said COUNTRIES) around the world. 

 

It turns out that Texas is actually the same size as Canada. But only when we are talking about GDP. Check out California too......!
