Younger vs older: where do you fit

I think that this story represents a great opportunity to sit down with your older kids and start the investment discussion. Did you know that by 2030, Baby Boomers will be overtaken as the majority of the wealth holders? (sorry folks, but it couldn't last forever) That is really not that far away, and it means it has largely already started.

But how do the investors of today look vs. the investors of the older generation? Do they like the same things? Are they driven by the same goals?

I encourage you to read the report in this link because it discusses these very things! Where do your kids stand on all of this (be they adult children or otherwise)?

A very important point and question that I think is missed here. Go back to when you were just starting out as a young, and full of energy professional/business person. Were your views on investing the same as your parents? Have they changed since then?  ---- It begs the question......will the Gen X'ers and Millenials investment views change dramatically over time, or are things going to be forever altered in the future?

Only time will tell I guess.......
