I'm not sure whether to call this a victory or a step backwards. While people are quick to rail against Tesla for making this technology available, let's think about this for a moment. The "what if"....the "alternate scenario". Human beings make poor decisions every day and that will never stop being the case. This individual was no exception, but one could argue that Autopilot saved the day.
I thought this was an excellent microcosm of the social and practical debates as they relate to new technology. AV is here whether we like it or not. This social aspect is just the beginning.
