Go “e” for a tree in honour of Earth Day 2021

In celebration of Earth Day 2021, together with the RBC Foundation and our partner Tree Canada, we are pleased to renew our commitment to environmental sustainability by offering multiple opportunities for our clients to have trees planted on their behalf.

Our “e” for a tree initiative, launched last year, invites clients to switch to paperless statements and documents and have a tree planted in their honour. So far, we’ve planted 22,888 trees through Tree Canada’s National Greening Program, as our way of saying thanks to the thousands of clients that have made the switch.

By choosing to receive paperless statements, you’ve helped to save:

  • 124,000 kilograms of wood
  • 2.3 million litres of water
  • 965,000 kilograms of CO2
  •  17,000 kilograms of waste

… in the last year alone.

This year, we are pleased to announce new ways for our clients to participate in the “e” for a tree initiative. Through our partnership with Tree Canada, we will plant a tree in your honour when you do any of the following:

Enrol in WM Online to quickly and easily access your important account information, send and receive secure messages from us, and much more – all through your computer, tablet or mobile device. You can sign up by clicking here.

Switch to paperless eDocuments to safely view your account statements, tax documents, trade confirmations and more through WM Online, instead of receiving printed copies in the mail. Here’s how to sign up.

Connect your online banking at RBC with WM Online so you can transfer the funds you need between WM Online and RBC Online Banking, without ever having to leave your home. Here’s how to get started.

This year’s tree-planting sites include the Tranquil River and Atleo River in British Columbia, land managed by the Manitoba Wildlife Federation (MWF) – Habitat Foundation, Ontario’s Maley Conservation Area, Quebec’s Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Reserve and the Isthmus of Chignecto in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

We know that wealth is about more than just your account balance – it’s about paving the way for communities to thrive and prosper. This Earth Day, let’s continue to find new ways to work together to have a positive impact on our planet and build a more sustainable future.

It’s easy to get set up for our online services. Simply contact me and we will be happy to walk you through the process.
