Half finance / half life post. I just watched the "Framing Britney Spears" Hulu movie with my wife. It's sad.
My daughter is turning 8 and she always tells me she wants to be a Youtube star / Taylor Swift / an artist. I don't want to squash her dreams but I gently remind her of a famous Bill Murray quote I believe every parent needs to tell their kids:
"I always want to say to people who want to be rich and famous: 'Try being rich first. ' See if that doesn't cover most of it. There's not much downside to being rich, other than paying taxes and having your relatives ask you for money. But when you become famous, you end up with a 24-hour job."

Fame can be tough.
Britney and I are the same age and I look back at 'early 20s' me and couldn't imagine dealing with the stuff she went through as basically 'a kid', nevermind at almost 40! Food for thought.
