Vito Finucci was recognized as the Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer of the Year at the Association of Fundraising Professionals Canada South National Philanthropy Day Celebration on November 14th in Windsor. This was a great honour recognizing his 29 years as the driving force behind the Children’s Health Foundation’s annual golf tournament, which has now raised over $5 million since got involved, and nearly $300,000 in 2018 alone.
 

Vito’s lifelong passion began with a trip to London’s former Children’s Hospital, which was overcrowded and inadequate to meet the needs of the community. Vito decided to volunteer and became instrumental in attracting major sponsors and celebrities to the formerly modest tournament, helping it become one of the most successful fundraising tournaments in the country. While the London Children’s Hospital is now a modern leading center for children’s care, Vito’s passion and determination to help kids continues.
