Syrup for Soldiers

Apr 08, 2019 02:33 PM - Apr 14, 2019 02:28 PM Pacific Daylight Time
1067 Binscarth Trail Dysart, Ontario

Hello there,

We are consistently amazed by the actions taken by individuals and community to change things for the better.

Much has been said and written about the importance of supporting members of our Canadian armed forces both on duty and during their reintegration into society on return and in retirement.

Sunday April 14th myself, Lynne and Meredith Mednick of RBC will be on hand to assist Wayne at his sugar shack located at 1067 Binscarth Trail, off the Barry Line just north of West Guilford between 1 and 3pm. Please join us if you would like to watch and learn how to make maple syrup.

Here are some pics from our volunteer event on April 14, 2019.

Through Meredith Mednick, a fellow RBC employee we met her father and brother, Walter and Chuck Krangle. As a result of Chuck’s time overseas with the military they decided to make, bottle and sell maple syrup with all profits, with the exception of $1 per sale that is kept for the bottle, passed on to the Wounded Warriors Canada Charity. Wounded Warriors Canada is an exceptional organization whose guiding ethos is to “Honour the Fallen and Help the Living”.

We had the pleasure of meeting Dan from Wounded Warriors Canada who himself benefited from the organization in 2012. This has led to him becoming an ambassador for the charity and advocate for the programs.

We did not let the weather or the long winding road in deter us from our volunteering duty.
