Global Insight 2026

As end of 2025 fast approaches, it makes sense to start turning our attention toward what 2026 may have in store for us. In his most recent report (see HERE), Eric Lascelles, Chief Economist at RBC Global Asset Management, does a great job of honing in on some key global themes that he believes will shape the markets next year, and well into the future.

Canada and the U.S. are finishing a third straight year of above-average performance. He suggests there’s nothing to say they can’t have a fourth. In order for that to happen, the economy – particularly in the U.S., has to avoid recession. Interest rates need to stay low or go lower and earnings need to grow. And, this all fits with current consensus estimates.

On the AI front, there’s every expectation this subject will continue to remain front and centre – perhaps even the main economic theme – for years to come.

The report is well worth taking the time to browse through, therefore I encourage you to take a look, when you have some time.

I would also like to take this opportunity to extend to all of our clients a heartfelt thank you from both Amanda and myself. This year has been one for the books and we are very grateful to have your trust.

Have a wonderful holiday!

Libby

As a reminder, if someone you know could benefit from a second opinion and fresh perspective, it costs nothing and can be invaluable for those who feel they’re not getting the care and attention they deserve. Please pass along my contact information to them. Thank you!
