The Elinesky Schuett Private Wealth team of RBC Dominion Securities (Elinesky Schuett) is one the largest and fastest growing advisor teams in the country. To continue delivering on our mission, Elinesky Schuett is currently seeking a dynamic Investment Associate to help take our trading operations to the next level. The role works closely with associates and advisors to efficiently plan, execute, monitor, and manage the portfolio and scaled investment strategy for our clients. This role is instrumental in building out and monitoring portfolio models, executing individual, bulk and FX trades, managing portfolio risk and compliance diagnostics, rebalancing the portfolios as needed, executing strategies for tax loss selling as needed, and proactively managing the portfolio for regular and irregular cash and liquidity needs for our clients. This role is as much instrumental to Trading Operations as it is in supporting cross training, leading or contributing to strategic initiatives, and helping with team capacity during urgent or peak volume periods.
DELIVER WORLD CLASS INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT AT SCALE – Leverage the power of the Private Investment Management (PIM) platform to build portfolio models, efficiently allocate securities using our proprietary target allocation calculator, and execute bulk trades at scale, while minimizing return drag, trading losses, corrections, and debit interest
BE THE CHAMPION OF PORTFOLIO RISK MANAGEMENT – Take extreme ownership over monitoring and resolving risk alerts driven from client Investment Policy Statement (IPS) constraints and PIM Investment Management Guidelines to ensure our client portfolios are 100% compliant and never blocked from executing trades
EFFICIENTLY MANAGE PORTFOLIO CASH – Analytically review, master, and build a plan to efficiently cover recurring client cash obligations without creating significant drag on portfolio returns
BE THE MASTER OF PORTFOLIO PERFORMANCE REPORTING – Use your analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail to review, summarize, and report on monthly performance data on our equity and fixed income portfolios
SCALE TRADING OPERATIONS – Be the champion for the trading process, related technologies and/or best practices, and take extreme ownership over improving and/or making them more efficient
Must Have
- Investment Representative Licensed – CSC, CPH, and 30-day training
- 5+ years of securities industry and/or portfolio management experience
- Demonstrated experience rebalancing portfolios, bulk trading, building and managing portfolio models, and working with trade lists
- Advanced understanding of the stock market, investments and retirement plans and working knowledge of fixed income products, equities, mutual funds, insurance, annuities and applicable compliance rules and regulations
- Being detail-oriented, possessing outstanding written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, and ability to navigate multiple demands in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive and methodical thinker that can easily work through competing and/or changing priorities
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Comfortable working independently and within a team
Nice-to-have
- Specific experience with RBC Dominion Securities and its software products (ClientLink, TradeLink, TAC, PIM Risk Dashboard, FactSet, COB, etc.)
- Experience with Salesforce
- Strong proficiency in video conferencing and messenger service applications (Slack, WebEx Teams, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work with large datasets
- Previous experience as an associate supporting an advisor team is considered an extremely valuable asset
- Working towards CFA considered an asset

The Associate role works partners with other team members to deliver high quality service to our new and existing clients through ongoing, creative, proactive, and efficient support across day-to-day client service, account administration, and wealth management support. This role is as much instrumental to supporting specific Investment Advisors and their client book as it is instrumental in supporting cross training, leading or contributing to strategic initiatives, and supporting with capacity during urgent or peak volume periods.
WORLD CLASS PRIMARY SERVICE CONTACT – first point of contact to quarterback all client inquiries and requests for your Investment Advisor’s book of clients and ensure they are overly satisfied with our service levels
DRIVE OUR CONTACT SERVICE PLAN – partner with the Investment Advisor and Client Experience Associate to support, manage, and track your Investment Advisor’s client service plan, including direct and frequent contact with clients to understand and act on their needs
ACCOUNT OPENING – partner with the Associate team to execute a world class account opening, setup, and onboarding experience in-person and digitally
ACCOUNT ADMINISTRATION – partner with the Associate team to support and execute all day to day, seasonal, and ad-hoc account administration and reporting for clients to ensure all accounts are 100% compliant with internal controls and regulatory requirements and clients are receiving core reporting deliverables from our team
DEVELOP AND CROSS-TRAIN SERVICE KNOWLEDGE – eagerly and proactively learn, develop, your service knowledge by exposing yourself to all service requests, complex client scenarios, and special projects and effortlessly share your best practices with the team

- 3+ years as an Associate
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC), Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH)
- Demonstrated skills in providing world-class client service that will come across as professional, warm, thoughtful, and proactive
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent time management
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to manage highly confidential information
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills – you have the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels and from various backgrounds, with confidence and grace
- Specific experience with RBC Dominion Securities and its software products
- Experience with Sales Force or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
