What's up with inflation?
High inflation means different things to different generations. To the earliest baby boomers, the term conjures memories of the double-digit increases of the mid-70s to early-80s and sky-high mortgage rates. For subsequent generations of inflation watchers, central banks’ success in keeping inflation near or below the two percent target has made today’s rates look shocking. But is the current pandemic-related jump in prices really the beginning of a new era of inflation? Just as the COVID-19 crisis was unlike what we’ve experienced before, a massive savings trove, the rapid rate of recovery and the contours of the recovery are making this inflationary experience unique.

Being an executor is an important role, as Leanne Kaufman, President and CEO, Royal Trust, can attest.
Not only is it a critical role in safeguarding someone’s wealth, it is a lot of work. This can include managing investments, paying off debt, and tedious tasks like cleaning out the fridge. These are just some of the less complex issues that can arise – and more complicated matters, such as trust accounts, could come up that will need to be handled by the executor.
Many people name friends or family members as executors. Leanne Kaufman sat down with The Canadian Press to discuss why clients should consider naming a corporate executor.
