The Gift of Giving this Holiday Season

It has been another trying year of ups and downs for many of us. As we make our way into 2023, we wanted to thank you for your continued partnership and trust in our team. May your time be spent taking in all of the joys that the holidays bring. Wishing everyone a wonderful new year full of hope, good health and prosperity for all.

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, we have made a donation to Meals on Wheels Ottawa. Each year, Meals on Wheels serves over 100,000 meals to clients in the region with the help of 428 volunteers. While providing nutritious food is an important part of their service, the daily visit from volunteers is equally important to clients. For many, the volunteer visit is the only contact they receive during the day. It really is more than just a meal and helps make a difference for seniors and adults with disabilities in Ottawa.

Donation to Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we recognize that we have the opportunity to give back to those in our community who may be struggling and in need of mental health support. The pandemic has been a difficult time many, through a number of lock downs, leading to isolation and bringing up feelings of loneliness. Both those with new and pre-existing mental health issues have faced challenges alike.

We have made a donation on behalf of our clients to the Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region to support the mental wellbeing of those in need. The Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region takes calls from individuals who reach out for help, ranging from simple questions to mental health emergencies. As stated in their mission, they “contribute to a healthier and safer community by providing suicide prevention, crisis intervention, psychological stabilization, emotional support, information, referral and education other services, without judgment, to individuals in need.”

We remain grateful for our clients and their trust. We wish you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving with your loved ones!

Happy Holidays to all in our community

Wishing our clients and friends a happy and healthy holiday season.

This year and every year, we are very grateful to each and every one of you for your trust and support.

To extend our appreciation, a donation has been made on your behalf to the United Way. This gift will help identify and create change for the biggest social challenges in our communities including mental health, vulnerable seniors, youth homelessness, addiction, community crises, and much more. We are glad to be able to spread good fortune and lasting change in our surrounding communities of Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark County and Renfrew County.

We hope you all have a joyful and relaxing holiday season!

Hope for Change

To Feed Hope This Thanksgiving

Many of us are thankful to have the opportunity to gather with loved ones this year for Thanksgiving. After the ever-changing restrictions we have faced the past 18 months, we can truly appreciate the value of connection. This holiday is a time for reflection of our gratitude for family, friends, shelter, health, and much more. We would like to give thanks through giving back to those who need it most. The Ottawa Mission has continued to help the less fortunate in our community to make impactful change in their lives, without ceasing to offer their services during the global pandemic. We continue to be grateful for the support and trust of our clients. As a token of our appreciation, we have made a donation to the Ottawa Mission to feed 150 people in need of a warm meal this Thanksgiving on your behalf.

FAMSAC Food Cupboard

Neighbours Helping Neighbours

This holiday season we are reminded of how fortunate we are to have our health and financial security during these uncertain times. We are excited to have the opportunity to share this good fortune in our community.

FAMSAC Food Cupboard began in 1969 to provide food assistance to the communities of Bayshore, Bells Corners, Crystal Beach, Craig Henry, Manordale, and Trend Village during the Christmas season. The program has expanded over the years in response to steadily growing demand. FAMSAC is currently providing between 60-80 food hampers to local families every month. This year we have sponsored 10 families for the holiday season which provides a special Christmas hamper containing a turkey and all the trimmings.

We are continually thankful for your trust and support this year and would like to wish you a wonderful holiday season.

Serving Hope This Thanksgiving

Lifelong Change Starts With A Meal

When we think about the Thanksgiving holiday, thoughts of turkey, dressing, and pumpkin pie fill our minds. However, Thanksgiving is a timely reminder to pause and give thanks for our family, health and wellbeing in our lives. As we approach a different looking thanksgiving year, we wanted to give thanks and help those who might need it most during the COVID-19 public health crisis. The Ottawa Mission continues to care for the most vulnerable members of our community, and has not closed their doors or stop accepting new clients who need support. We are continually grateful for the support and trust our clients have in us. To show our thanks to you, we made a donation this week to the Ottawa Mission to provide 150 warm meals to people in need this weekend.
