The 2019 Federal Budget is out and the changes put forth are very indicative of the times. Concerns over automation leading to a skills shortage, the erosion of housing affordability and the critical role of internet access in our lives were all addressed with new initiatives. Among other measures, the budget proposes nurturing a culture of lifelong learning, revamping and expanding the First Time Homebuyers Plan and committing to improving internet access for all rural communities.

A good overview of the budget is available here, and a more technical analysis prepared by RBC's top economists is available here. To discuss how the 2019 budget may impact your personal situation, I am available here.
