RBC is investing $500 million to help young Canadians succeed. Partnering with Phoenix, a local non-profit committed to doing just that, is a natural fit.

RBC Future Launch is a 10 year, $500 million commitment to help youth acquire skills, grow their networks and gain work experience. The vision of the program is to empower the youth of today for the jobs of tomorrow. The impetus behind Future Launch was the finding that today's youth are at risk of ending up poorer than their parents and the realization that if youth fail, we all fail. RBC being the Presenting Sponsor of this year's Phoenix Holiday Luncheon is a concrete example of how this investment is impacting our community.

Hosting a table at this annual fundraiser is one of my favourite ways to kick off the holiday season. In addition to the many generous raffle prizes donated by local companies; Heather Rankin not only performed but also offered a private concert which raised $10,000 in auction, the owners of the Bicycle Thief restaurant auctioned off a romantic dinner and flights for two to Paris and East Coast Lifestyle collaborated with Phoenix youth on a limited edition line of clothing that was available at the event with all proceeds going directly to Phoenix.

The prizes, the music and the festive meal were wonderful but hearing first-hand of the impact that the Phoenix programs have on local youth is what truly makes this a heartwarming event.
