Tim uses a needs-based approach to create and manage portfolios for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts and foundations. Most of his clients have or are building multi-generational wealth. He helps families transition assets and portfolios to the next generation. His focus on slowly building financial literacy and competency among adult children and grandchildren has helped many families protect and grow their financial resources. He also works with Capital Markets groups to create structures that give clients exposure to a particular market or view with reduced risk and improved income. He utilizes a financial planning approach, which helps clients align their investment objectives with their goals.
In addition to his 10+ years at RBC Dominion Securities and Nesbitt Burns prior to that, Tim has a BSc from Queen's University and has obtained the advanced designation of Chartered Investment Manager (CIM).
