The U.S. Bull Market Has Been A ‘Long Time Running’

Investment Philosophy

Brad is responsible for RBC Global Asset Management’s core and income-oriented U.S. equity strategies. The presentation opened discussing Brad’s investment philosophy and how he evaluates companies. When a company has excess capital to allocate, Brad breaks down there choices into five categories. The company can; reinvest in the business, pay a dividend, buy back stock, reduce debt or acquire another company. Brad’s preference is to see management favour the first three options. Historically the choices to reduce their debt and acquire another company tend to be inferior in comparison to the other alternatives. Focusing on companies who emphasize long-term dividend growth and reinvestment of capital is Brad’s recommended philosophy.
