Chatter that Matters podcast host Tony Chapman and Dr. Joe Coughlin discuss the opportunities—and realities—of living longer.

“Living longer changes all your assumptions,” says Dr. Joe Coughlin, founder and director of MIT AgeLab, a multidisciplinary research program in Cambridge, Massachusetts, created to understand the behaviour of individuals who are over 50 years old.

Dr. Joe, as the researcher, author, teacher and advisor is best known, says, “Longevity changes what you think are appropriate life stages, the what and the where, and in many cases the when and how. And it really requires a whole new look at life.” It’s this “new frontier” called longevity where Dr. Joe focuses his research to help bust myths about aging.

The author of The Longevity Economy recently joined Chatter that Matters podcast host Tony Chapman for an engaging and informative conversation about living longer—touching on topics from technology, design and service innovations to solo living and caregiving.
