Bruce’s interest in investing started at a very young age in the 1960s when his father gifted him shares in his company, Bell & Howell Canada. Like many new investors, young Bruce quickly developed a keen interest in observing their performance – sparking an aptitude for capital markets that only grew as time passed. Half a century later, Bruce now leads one of the top performing wealth management teams at our nation’s leading wealth management provider.
Bruce holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting. After graduation, he began a diverse career path, enjoying roles across Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (IC&C) real estate, investment banking, corporate finance, and training and recruitment.
Bruce has provided high-net-worth clients with investment advice and wealth management since 1981, building strong partnerships with financial services professionals along the way. Bruce builds trusted and long-term relationships with his clients – having advised some for over 30 years – and the growth of his practice is largely due to their referrals. During his time at RBC Dominion Securities, he has been frequently recognized for his achievements through internal awards and membership in our firm’s prestigious Chairman’s council for over 25 years.
A firm believer in ongoing education, Bruce makes special efforts to further his professional development and has completed the courses with the Canadian Securities Institute:
- Canadian Securities Course (1981)
- Options Licensing Course (1983)
- Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Course (1994)
- Portfolio Management Techniques course (2015)
- Investment Management Techniques course (2016)
- Chartered Investment Manager (2016)
Bruce is also highly dedicated to his community, supporting various charities including United Way, ABC Life Literacy, Canadian Wildlife Federation, Canadian Canoe Museum, Prostate Canada, Trillium Hospital, St. Andrew’s Society & Islington United Church. He is also a member of a number of Associations such as The Mayflower Descendants, Antique Classic Boat Society, Kettles Cottage Association and Muskoka Lakes Association.
Bruce was raised in the Kingsway of Etobicoke and currently resides in Sherwood Forrest of Mississauga with his wife, Yvonne. He is father to three wonderful adult children, Ryan, Kristine and Kyle. He and Yvonne have dedicated many years to a personal passion project: designing and building a cottage to replicate the one Bruce’s family once owned for 15 years. Now finished, Bruce and Yvonne consider the home a symbol of family, a testament to the outcome of careful planning and hard work and a life legacy to pass onto their children. Bruce also enjoys golf, skiing, snowshoeing, sailing, biking, kayaking and travelling. Other hobbies Bruce and his wife enjoy include attending theatre and rock and roll concerts as well as collecting art, unique antiques like old books & albums and his 1968 Jaguar XKE- they love to have fun.

We’ll review your investment portfolio and introduce you to our extended team of wealth management professionals and the full range of services we offer."
