For the 13th straight year, RBC proudly sponsored the RBC GranFondo Whistler. the largest GranFondo in North America with over 6700 participants! The race starts at 7am in beautiful Stanley Park before heading up to the spectacular Sea to Sky HWY all the way to Whistler, 122km later. It's a great celebration of Vancouver's healthy lifestyle and cycling community and unofficially marks the end of the cycling season for many.
The boys of Eydt Wealth Partners join in the fun and road in the St. Regis Cup team event powered by their local bike shop, Steed Cycles. The day started out perfectly, with a warm morning and blue skies. Aaron and James rode in their first formal cycling event and crushed their goals. Brian beat his previous time and got to ride with his brother, George who flew in from out east. Eric was able to win the coveted RBC Yellow Jersey for the fastest male RBC'er, an award he won back in 2016. Dawn Torroba was also a repeat winner of the fastest female RBC'er award.
Along with sponsoring the event, RBC donated $25,000 to Cycling BC to support their HopOn learn to ride program which has taught safety, skills and awareness to over 65,000 kids around BC since 2013. On top of that, over 650 RBC'ers volunteered at registration, on the course and at the finish to help make the event a success. Thank yuo to all the volunteers for making this such a wonderful experience for our team and family.
