On a weekly basis, we spend much of our team planning time on enhancing our skills and application of our industry leading investment management, tax and estate planning strategies. Our Annual Planning Retreat allows us to dig deeper into the practice and focus on the bigger picture, why do we do what we do? The answer is, to help our clients enjoy their money, but how can we do it better?

We started off the two day event with a team hike around the Lost Lake Trails on a beautiful blue bird day. The air was fresh and brisk, a perfect way to kick off the day. After that, we planned how we can continue to offer one of the most value rich client experiences in the country and grow the practice in a sustainable manner.

We discussed the concept of ending well. We want to be able to look back at life and feel good about how we spent our time on this planet.

Did we enjoy the countless hours we spent with our work team?

Did we support each other to be the best we can be at work and at home?

Did we have a positive, lasting impact on our clients’, our family and our community?

We ended Day 1 with a team dinner where we recapped the day and enjoyed each other’s company over a few glasses of wine.

We don’t start relationships with clients to just help them for one or two years, our goal is to help them for decades to come. One of our core philosophies is "Health is Wealth" so Day 2 started with a yoga session led by Eric and a circuit training session led by Aaron. We want to ensure we are at tip top health so we are able to help our clients for many more years.

After getting the blood flowing at the gym, we worked on our key processes to enhance our efficiency so we can offer more personalized advice when clients need it. We reviewed our client experience to reduce the pain points. If our goal is for our clients to enjoy their money, the most important component to that is enjoying dealing with us. Whether it’s during our review sessions, on the phone or asking a question through email, we want to take that opportunity to exceed our clients’ expectations every time.

We ended our two day session by digging deep into our team’s individual “Ikigai”, our “reason for being”, our “why”. know if our personal ‘why’ and work place ‘why’ are in alignment we will be driven to do a better job for our clients.
