Happy Friday from BMWM!

Donald Trump won the presidency for a second time. In an election marked by concerns over inflation, immigration and abortion rights, the Republican candidate crossed the 270-electoral-seat threshold with critical battleground state wins to defeat Democratic vice-president Kamala Harris. Like his first term, Trump is expected to focus on tariffs and tax cuts as key policy tools to spur growth.

The Current Account (click here to read) covers the Republicans securing a governing trifecta, a teen from British Columbia presumed to be Canada’s first human case of bird flu, Amazon launching a low-cost site to counter Temu’s rise, and policymakers fretting over Brazillians’ gambling addiction.

Have a wonderful weekend,
