Happy Friday from BMWM!
The long weekend is upon us, and we wish you all a happy, fun and safe long weekend as we celebrate the anniversary of the Constitution Act which consolidated three territories into the single nation of Canada back in 1867. Canada will be 156 years old!
The Current Account (click here to read) covers Canada Day featuring fewer fireworks than usual, the U.S. Supreme Court overturning race-based college admissions, western Canadian dockworkers going on strike beginning July 1st, a Barbie blitz up marketing bonanza, and sex educator Sue Johanson who was best known as the host of Sunday Night Sex Show passing away at the age of 93.
Taylor’s word of the week is gazumping, meaning a process in which a seller who has already accepted one buyer’s offer goes on to take a higher offer, pushing the first buyer out of the picture. For example, John made an offer on a house for $500,000, and the seller accepted it. However, a few days later, the seller received a higher offer from another buyer and decided to sell the house to them instead.
Have a great long weekend!
