On March 8th, we celebrated International Women’s Day, held throughout the world to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
The Current Account (click here to read) covers Ontario now allowing grade 11 students to become apprentices while still earning their diplomas, what is being called a “perk-cession” already in full swing, Ontario’s ongoing nurse shortage, and the “sushi terrorism” plaguing Japan’s conveyor-belt restaurants.
Taylor’s word of the week is empowerment, meaning “the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one’s life and claiming one’s rights”. For example, women experience empowerment by using their right to make their own choices.
