Good Afternoon,
Happy Friday again from the team at Brenda Miller Wealth Management. For the week of November 8th to 12th, please note that Joel will be on Vacation and Brenda will be attending the RBC Dominion Securities Managed Money Conference.
The markets this week performed nicely. As we enter November and December, the focus will be on year-end dividends and tax planning. For those of you with larger non-RRSP accounts, we will be looking for tax planning opportunities. Please also note that December 31st is the deadline for RESP (Registered Education Savings Plan) contributions, and we prefer to have those completed by mid-December. If either of these apply to you, we will be reaching out to discuss these strategies further.
This week we thought we would share a feel-good story that happened on Halloween. This warmed Brenda's heart, and we thought you should all see it as well. You can watch it here: https://calgary.ctvnews.ca/doorbell-camera-captures-calgary-trick-or-treaters-giving-back-1.5648371
Today's edition of The Current Account is headlined by good news about the Canadian economy, with additional articles about the Climate Change Summit in Glasgow, Ontario's new "mini-budget" of $1.6 billion for roads, bridges, and highways.
Taylor's word of the week this week is Wanderlust, which is "a strong and innate desire to travel far from home". This is something many of our clients are experiencing, as they prepare for the border opening next week, when they will be traveling south for the winter.
Safe travels, and have a great weekend,
Brenda, Taylor, and Joel
