Did you know 70% of Alzheimer’s patients are women? Even more eye-opening—40% of dementia cases could be prevented with healthier lifestyle choices.

Why Women Need to Talk About Brain Health

At a recent event at the Pearle Hotel in Burlington, we heard from Leanne Kaufman (Royal Trust) and Lynn Posluns (WBHI) on the critical role of brain health in women’s lives. They shared six key pillars to protect cognitive function:

  • Nutrition – Eat brain-boosting foods.
  • Movement – Just 10 min/day makes a difference.
  • Sleep – 7-8 hours = brain detox.
  • Stress Management – Small moments of calm matter.
  • Mental Stimulation – Keep learning!
  • Social Connections – Stay engaged, stay sharp.

Women’s brain health is underfunded and under-researched—it’s time to change that. Let’s keep the conversation going!
