As we enter the last month of the year, we tend to be faced with a flurry of emotions.

“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”

 ― Mother Theresa

Excitement around all the holiday magic, sadness that we may not have all our loved ones physically with us to enjoy this time anymore, stress from the hustle and bustle that comes with the holiday season and a sense of joy from all the wonderful music that comes along with the season.  We are grateful for all these moments and what they bring to our lives.

From our families to yours, we hope you are able to make some new memories with friends and family over the holidays and wish you nothing but health and happiness as we head into a New Year.

Making Christmas Memories: Activities to Enjoy in Calgary with Loved Ones

Christmas is a magical time filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments with loved ones, but it can also be incredibly busy. Between shopping, decorating, and planning festive gatherings, it is easy to overlook finding fun activities to enjoy together. To help you make most of the season without adding to the holiday rush, we are sharing an article summarizing some of the activities and events in Calgary. From light displays to family friendly outings, we hope to narrow down the options and save you time so you can focus on what matters – making memories with the people you care about.

Home for the Holidays: Foster A Friend this Christmas

The Calgary Humane Society’s “Home for the Holidays” program is a heartwarming initiative that gives families the chance to make a difference this holiday season. With over 300 animals currently in their care, the society is seeking temporary foster homes for their furry, feathered, or scaly friends alike. This program aims to get animals spending the holiday season surrounded by love and warmth instead of waiting in a shelter.

Fostering through Home for the Holidays is a temporary commitment, allowing families to provide comfort and companionship to an animal during the festive season. All supplies will be provided, and the foster team of Calgary Humane Society will be there to offer guidance and support every step of the way.

You can apply today through this link: Foster Application | Calgary Humane Society.  For more information you may also reach out to Heather Stewart through this link.

The Summit: Marian and Jim Sinneave Centre for Youth Resilience

Every year the team comes together and decides on a charitable organization that we would like to support and in lieu of Christmas cards (which is a particularly easy decision with Canada Post on strike), we have chosen to support Youth Mental Health this year through the Build Them Up Program at The Summit: Marian and Jim Sinneave Centre for Youth Resilience.

Located in the northwest of Calgary, The Summit: Marian and Jim Sinneave Center for Youth Resilience is a warm welcoming and transformative space designed to support young people facing mental health challenges. As a one stop resource, the Summit provides alternative assistance for families in crisis offering tailored services to meet the unique mental health needs of children and teens.
