Settlement Creates Nest Egg for Life

When I was in my twenties, I had life changing accident when I was struck by a vehicle. I was awarded a lump sum of money and was introduced to Alan through an accountant my parents have known for decades. Together we created a financial plan to allow me to live off the portfolio while growing my capital. Alan strategized with my accountant when I was contemplating major financial decisions and his professional acumen was noted. His practical insights and tax knowledge have proven invaluable navigating the financial planning and investment landscape. Twelve years later I am now in a position to buy my own home and want to thank Alan for his advice and guidance.

Etobicoke family's multi-generational financial planning & tax savings

My father, Angelo was an entrepreneur and a self directed investor. He met Alan in the Kingsway area bank branches of TD before the last financial crisis of 2008-2009. As that cycle was re-establishing a positive tone, he fell ill with the stresses of keeping track of everything. Alan and him met again in the local RBC branch and started a plan to look after the family's finances. It was a great relief to my dad that this responsibility was now in Alan's hands and that my mother would be financially taken care of. After his passing, she could stay in the family home as long as she wanted. Seven years later my mother passed away after a short but necessary stay in a retirement home. Alan and his team seamlessly moved the assets to my sisters and I, and arranged a new accountant to work with the family. We are grateful for his service and professionalism.

Kingsway Commercial Real Estate Owner grateful for professional service and family treatment

My RBC banking advisor introduced me to Alan ten years ago when my husband passed away. Alan manages my investments while integrating my tax and estate plans with my lawyer and accountant. He understands my desire to plan well for my daughter and grandchildren. He asks the right questions and takes the time to explain complicated issues in simple terms. He looks after me like I’m his mother and I love him for that.

Director of Finance left no stone unturned

"I met Alan in 2004 at another financial institution’s office when I worked in finance for a global marketing company. I lived alone and he recognized
the need for me to protect my income and grow my assets to take care of myself in retirement. He streamlined everything I have into a
comprehensive financial plan that includes living benefit insurance, a diverse portfolio of stocks, fixed income, and investment funds, TFSAs, RSPs,
RIFs, a Tax, Will and Estate plan that includes a Charitable Gifting strategy. He has left no stone unturned and I sleep well at night knowing that everything is organized to look after me and my money.

Appreciative CEO announces retirement

"Good Evening Don and Alan,

I have news to share that today I have decided to step into retirement effective April 30, 2021.

I want to express my deep appreciation for the many years of excellent service that has been provided by both of you. I clearly recall in about March 2007 when Glorianne, our Chair at that time, let me know that a Mr. Don Stewart of RBC Dominion Securities looked after our investments. I also recall saying that I knew a Don Stewart who I had worked with at Ernst & Young and wondered if it might be the same person. And lo and behold it was. Such serendipitous good fortune.

Both of you were always there when we needed you, and Don, you can be very proud that Alan carried on your tradition of first-class service without a hitch.

In case you need me for any reason like golf, you know where to reach me.

Thank you both for looking after us so well. You are a great credit to your profession.
