chris.newall@rbc.com
LinkedIn
Chris Newall joined RBC Dominion Securities in 1996 and, in the three decades since, he has consistently demonstrated exemplary dedication to his clients, his colleagues, and the community – efforts that have on four separate occasions earned him the Tony Fell award, which is given to the firm’s top portfolio manager. To build and preserve the wealth of the high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates he serves as senior portfolio manager, Chris develops customized portfolios fueled by dynamic asset allocation, tax-smart strategies, and sophisticated risk-management techniques. To optimize every financial angle for his clients, he leans into his deep professional network as needed.
Chris has a mind for business and numbers, and he is eternally thinking of ways to leverage the former to increase the latter for his clients. In addition to more than 28 years of experience, Chris draws on the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designations. As well, to continually offer top-tier service, he regularly deepens his knowledge through market research, industry conferences, financial coursework, and investing podcasts. Chris imparts his expertise as a regular speaker at various RBC events.
Chris supports many community charities and organizations, including chairing the Royal St. George’s College Foundation Trustees, providing fund management oversight to help increase scholarship endowments. The Royal St. George’s has a special place in Chris’s heart, as his eldest son’s alma mater, and indeed Chris’s favourite pastime is family time. Chris and his wife enjoy quality time together on outdoor pursuits, such as skiing and golfing, and can often be found cheering for all three of their children at sporting events – be it on a ski hill, in an arena, at a regatta, or on a field.

peter.coward@rbc.com
Since joining RBC Dominion Securities in 1984, Peter Coward has been a trusted advisor to his clients and has focused on portfolio construction and management for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and estates. Peter has a deep appreciation for differing perspectives and starts every day with at least an hour of reading to fuel his ever-current perspective on the financial markets. In addition to his deep care, the intellectual capital that Peter brings to every interaction is among the traits his clients value most in him.
Peter began his career in 1982 as a financial analyst for an international packaged consumer goods producer, learning how to uncover the inner workings of a company and its performance through its corporate balance sheets. robin.gullason@rbc.com
Coming of age during the stock market boom of the late ’90s and gaining business sense by osmosis from his entrepreneurial parents, Robin Gullason was curious about the investment markets from a young age. The intellectual challenge called to him; he answered it in 2002, and never looked back.
As a member of RBC’s highly regarded generalist program, Robin began his career in various areas of the organization, including RBC Asset Management’s equity portfolio management group as well as the RBC Dominion Securities bond desk. There, he specialized in the analysis of interest rates, corporate bonds, and preferred shares and counseled the firm’s investment advisors on management of their fixed income portfolios. Robin earned progressively senior roles until he joined The Harbour Group in 2011.
As associate portfolio manager and lead strategist, Robin’s role is to keep his finger on the pulse – to pay attention to key factors that may impact our clients’ portfolios, now or in the future. Leveraging traditional and non-traditional sources, Robin spends his days boiling the ocean of information into relevant, actionable insights. A critical player in The Harbour Group’s sterling reputation for keeping clients ever-informed and -educated, he shares his findings through concise and digestible weekly blog posts as well as one-on-one conversations with clients. Robin is also an integral part of The Harbour Group partners’ consensus decision-making process, weighing in on and helping improve upon investment ideas with his expert analytical perspective.
In addition to some 20 years of hands-on experience, Robin leans on the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation as well as a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Calgary.
As at work, Robin spends some of his free time in a “rabbit hole” of research, indulging a broad array of interests, ranging from politics to history to – his latest fixation – guitar. He enjoys music, skiing, cooking, and spending time with his wife and two young children.
