In January 2019, Heather Little, a longtime member of the RBC Dominion Securities (RBC DS) family, was appointed Vice President, Branch Manager of the RBC DS branch in St. John’s, Newfoundland – becoming the firm’s first female Branch Manager east of Ontario.
Prior to that, Heather’s impressive almost two-decade long career at RBC Dominion Securities encompassed many important and progressively more senior roles, each characterized by one thing: helping others to be better at what they do.
After graduating from Canadore College in North Bay in 2001, Heather joined RBC Dominion Securities in her home town of Owen Sound, Ontario. She started in the branch operations side of the business, and her career progressed rapidly from there. Over the next several years, Heather built her skills and experience, spending time in marketing, training and practice management. Eventually, her considerable accomplishments and clear leadership abilities made her an ideal choice to manage the firm’s national Mobile Training Team, a dedicated group with a mandate to elevate the ability of Investment Advisors and their teams to successfully meet the ever-evolving and sophisticated needs of clients.
Through her various roles, Heather became well-known among Investment Advisors across the country by delivering high-energy (and high-impact) presentations to help them structure their practices for success. In 2016, Heather was approached by RBC Dominion Securities senior management to join one of the firm’s largest branches in downtown Toronto as an Assistant Branch Manager. After just two-and-a-half years, she had proven herself ready to manager her own branch, leading to her appointment in St. John’s.
In her personal time, Heather loves to stay active, and is an avid golfer. In 2015, Heather completed her first Ironman competition, and is now training for her next challenge: the Muskoka half Ironman.
