Rick Squires, CLU, CH.F.C., TEP combines experience in business with his passion for taxation to create unique financial models as part of the process of designing optimal estate plans for our clients.
Rick joined RBC Dominion Securities in the fall of 2004. He applies his encyclopedic knowledge and creativity to the creation of solutions that meet the pledges that clients have made to themselves and those who mean the most to them.
Rick’s background in the financial services industry spans over two decades. He’s a Chartered Life Underwriter, a Chartered Financial Consultant, a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner and has earned recognition as an estate planning innovator and an expert in designing executive benefit programs that enhance retirement income and minimize tax. He subscribes to the respective codes of ethics and standards of conduct required by his professional designations.
Rick conducts detailed meetings with our clients as part of our team, as well as roundtable discussions with other members of the RBC Dominion Securities Team in order to share enhanced strategies to achieve income growth and reduce tax and estate liabilities.
Rick coordinates any technical advice with our legal and accounting team - and bridges to clients’ traditional advisors. He has a passion for and keen insight into the fields of corporate and charitable planning.
He is a registered member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners - whose head office is in London, England.
Rick, and his wife Joanne live in Sarnia with their three children.
Will & Estate Consultant
Shannon worked in private practice for ten years before joining RBC in 2010. She specialized in the areas of Wills & estate planning, estate administration and real estate. Shannon graduated from the University of Guelph with a Honours B.A. and received her LLB from the University of Toronto in 1998. She is a Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association Estates Section (Ontario) and the Oxford Law Society.
Shannon lives in Woodstock, Ontario with her husband and three kids.

Michael A. Caverly
Regional Vice President, Lambton/Kent Market
Michael Caverly is the Regional Vice President for RBC Royal Bank in the Lambton/Kent Market. Mr. Caverly joined RBC in 2006 as the Manager, Financial Planning in Sarnia. Prior to joining RBC, Mr. Caverly worked in the Financial Services industry for 15 years in a variety of roles through-out the province of Ontario. Mr. Caverly assumed his current position as Regional Vice President in February 2010. Mr. Caverly is active in the Sarnia community, working closely with Pathways Health Centre for Children, Lambton College and coaching minor sports sport teams. Mr. Caverly has an undergraduate degree from Trent University and holds his Certified Financial Planner desgination. Furthermore, he is currently completing his Executive MBA at Dalhousie University. Mr. Caverly has resided in Sarnia for the 7 years with his wife Deanne and his two sons Daniel & Noah.

Shane Dow began his career with RBC in 2001 holding a variety of branch rolls in the Guelph area. He most recently spent four years as a Branch Manger of RBC Bank in Strathroy Ontario and is currently Manger of Financial planning. Graduating with Honours in Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University, PFP (Personal Financial Planning) which he achieved in 2004; he brings both his experience and education in finance to the RBC team. Shane is actively involved in his community and is currently the President of the Strathroy and District Chamber of Commerce. Shane lives in Strathroy with is wife Jennifer Walters and two children, Austin 7 and Alister who is 5.

As a Senior Account Manager & Team Leader for Sarnia-Lambton, David leads a team of experienced Account Managers. He develops strong relationships with clients, getting to know their needs thoroughly, and providing straightforward business advice to help owners and entrepreneurs achieve their goals. David leverages his team’s knowledge and the complete range of RBC professionals and services to deliver solutions for his clients’ business and personal financial needs. With 17 years at RBC, and a solid educational background, David has a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon, including expertise in Real Estate and Asset Based Finance. He graduated with an Honours MBA from Lake Superior State University in Michigan; Bachelor of Commerce — Honours Business Administration from the University of Windsor, and a BA in Sociology from the University of Western Ontario. David also earned a Diploma in General Management from the Institute of Canadian Bankers. His previous roles at RBC include Manager, Business Development for Asset Based Finance, Account Manager, Business Banking, and Manager of Sales & Service.

Sandy Brown is a Mobile Mortgage Specialist with RBC Royal Bank serving the Sarnia Lambton area. Sandy was born and raised in Sarnia and joined RBC in 1974. In 1995 Sandy assumed her current role of Mobile Mortgage Specialist. Sandy enjoys this role and the flexibility to work out of all of the branches, as well as the convenience to be able to meet the client at their home or business for appointments. She is a member of the Sarnia Lambton Real Estate Board, the Sarnia Lambton Home Builders Association and the Chamber of Commerce.
